World Meditation Day at BEST
And BEST is marking the occasion by encouraging staff, pupils and parents/carers to get involved.
It is part of our ongoing commitment to support the wellbeing of all and to build a mindful community – all encompassed in our newest value: to have the courage to be compassionate.
Our CEO Dr Alan Lee, who will be part of an international delegation visiting the Centre for World Peace and Health on Holy Isle next month, will be leading practice across our schools.
He said: "Future leaders will be both wise and kind. Meditation is an invitation to develop clarity of thought and openness of heart."
We have also enlisted the help of two leaders in mindfulness, Will George and Maggie Farrar, who we have been working with over the past two years to lay the foundations for our mindful and compassionate community.
They have recorded guided meditation sessions – available below – to enable pupils, parents/carers and staff across BEST and beyond to take part in guided practice on the day. All take less than 10 minutes.
We will be posting coverage of our World Meditation Day participation on our social media channels. Keep an eye out on our Twitter account @BedsSchTrust on the day.
