Covid-19 national lockdown: A letter to parents
Following the Prime Minister's announcement of a third national lockdown for England, including the closure of schools and move to remote learning for most pupils, BEST CEO Dr Alan Lee has today written to parents and carers.

Dear Parents/Carers.
You will be aware of last night’s address by the Prime Minister announcing a new national lockdown to tackle the rising cases of Covid-19. The measures announced include a move to remote learning for the majority of school pupils until the February half term.
The pandemic has been a tremendously challenging time for everyone and I would like to state my utmost appreciation to parents/carers, pupils and staff across the BEST family for pulling together to get us through this so far.
The Prime Minister has warned that the coming weeks will be the hardest yet. I would like to assure you that our schools and BEST as a whole are always there to listen, help and support.
As per Government Policy, BEST schools will be open for vulnerable children and children of critical workers only. For all other pupils, schools will be providing a range of online lessons and resources to enable them to continue with their learning.
If you have any questions relating to your child’s education in the coming weeks, your first point of contact should be your child’s school. Please get in touch with any queries.
As has been evident throughout much of the pandemic, this is a fast-moving and ever-changing situation.
