Announcement: Pix Brook Academy
Mr Adams was appointed in 2018 and took up his post in April 2019, ahead of BEST opening the free school in September of that year.
He has led the school from its first year in a temporary home and into a brand new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility on the edge of Stotfold in 2020.
The school was rated Good overall with Outstanding features, including for Leadership and Management, in its first Ofsted inspection earlier this year.
Governors, school staff and families were informed of Mr Adams’ retirement this afternoon.
Dr Alan Lee, Chief Executive Officer of BEST, comments:
As founding Principal, Mr Adams continues to provide exceptional leadership at Pix Brook Academy. BEST Trustees are extremely grateful for the vision, professionalism and dedication Mr Adams continues to give to the school.
Mr Adams lives our mission ‘to grow the BEST in everyone’ and is an inspiration. He will leave the school in a very strong position and we wish him and his family every happiness in retirement, following the next nine months!
Steve Adams:
Having been appointed to open the school in 2018, it has been a privilege to watch the school grow from humble beginnings to the school it is today.
The decision to retire is not an easy one. However, I believe the school is in a great place for new leadership to continue the school’s development. With a very strong Ofsted report, exceptional KS2 results and a full complement of talented and hard-working staff, the new Principal will have all the ingredients necessary to continue the school’s development.
My departure is nine months away and until then I am looking forward to working with our staff, pupils and you to ensure the school remains a successful and happy place.
The recruitment process for the next Principal of Pix Brook Academy has already started.
